Homemade Coffee Concoction
This creative take on the classic cocktail is easy to make and sure to delight. In place of the bourbon traditionally used to make an Old Fashioned, we’re substituting delicious homemade cold brew coffee. A 1912 Pike shout out to Starbucks coffee master Taylor Harbin for crafting the recipe for you to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 6 oz cold brew concentrate (recipe below)
- 2 T orange syrup (recipe below)
- 4 dashes Angostura® bitters
- Cherries (maraschino or brandied)
- Orange peel
- Ice
How to Make Cold Brew Old Fashioned
STEP ONE
Cover a large mason jar with cheesecloth.

STEP TWO
Add coffee. We recommend Starbucks® Kenya with a coarse grind. Fill with pure, filtered water. Steep for 12 hours at room temperature.

STEP THREE
Strain and discard cheesecloth with coffee grounds.

STEP FOUR
Make orange syrup. Add water, raw sugar and orange peels to saucepan.

STEP FIVE
Bring to a boil to dissolve sugar, then let cool.

STEP SIX
Add orange syrup and Angostura® bitters to glass and stir

STEP SEVEN
Add ice then top with cold brew concentrate.

STEP EIGHT
Rim glass with orange peel.

STEP NINE
Garnish with an orange twist and a cherry or two.

STEP TEN
Serve and enjoy.
